Bridget Cordory, Batik and Community Artist
“Awareness of impermanence is encouraged, so that when it is coupled with our appreciation of the enormous potential of our human existence, it will give us the sense of urgency that I must use every precious moment.”

THE 14TH DALAI LAMA
I work with textile creating Batik paintings and Shibori designed indigo dyed organic scarves and table linen. I explore the relationship between dyes and material. Experimenting with barriers and the flow of the dyes, watching the colours merge and blend, living their own life – Art’s Magic!
I studied Community Art and flourish when I am working with people as an enabler, facilitating workshops for groups who would have little access to art. I am a great believer in arts in health, knowing how creating lowers my own stress levels!
Having spend many years working in the public and voluntary sector I now have the freedom to explore and develop my art skills . My inspiration comes from living in different locations including the Falkland Islands and Cambodia. I grew up on the coast and the sea plays an important part in my life but I am very content to be in Gloucestershire, enjoying the beautiful scenery.
I have exhibited at The Burton, Bideford, The Castle, Bude and RHS Rosemoor .
I am selling original batiks, limited edition prints, cards and scarves in the Glos Arts & Crafts Centre https://www.glosartscrafts.co.uk and online through this site.
